Document Scanning Criteria
— applied to each paper's title & abstract after retrieval
Each criterion scans the title and abstract for your keywords. Must contain = paper flagged ✓ if any keyword found. Must NOT contain = paper flagged ✓ if no keywords found (e.g. use "animal, rat, mouse" to exclude animal studies). Papers passing more criteria score higher. Configure full criteria in the Scan Criteria tab.

Automated Quality Checklists
— run automatically on any paper with full text available
Once a paper's full text is retrieved (via PubMed Central or a free PDF), the app will automatically run quality checklists against the text. Each checklist item is keyword-scanned and pre-filled as a starting point — you can review and adjust each item manually inside the paper's expanded view. Checklists are matched to study type by default but can be changed per paper. RoB2 is always assessed alongside the matched checklist.
✓ CONSORT 2010 — RCTs
✓ RoB2 — All trials (risk of bias)
✓ PRISMA 2020 — Systematic Reviews & Meta-Analyses
✓ STROBE — Observational Studies
✓ CARE — Case Reports
✓ AGREE II — Clinical Guidelines

Document Scanning Criteria
Define what each retrieved paper must contain or must not contain. After a search, every paper's title and abstract is scanned against these rules. Each passing criterion adds to the paper's score. Re-run your search after editing criteria to re-scan all papers.

Manual Classification Tags
These tags appear on every paper in the results and can be toggled manually. They are not used for scoring — they are for your team's workflow (e.g. Include/Exclude decisions, assignments).

📋 Standalone Checklist Uploader
Upload any research paper PDF directly and run a quality checklist against it — no PubMed search needed. The app reads the PDF locally in your browser (nothing is sent to any server). Useful for spot-checking a specific paper or assessing papers outside a formal search.
